*** Northeast Nursery’s seasoned firewood is stored outside and uncovered, year-round. Therefore, seasoned firewood could arrive with surface – level moisture if rain or snow recently occured. Please allow several days of outside drying before burning. Choose kiln dried firewood if you would like 100% dry and ready to burn firewood, regardless of the weather ***
Northeast Nursery’s seasoned firewood is split, dried ouside for six months, and possesses a moisture saturation point of less than 20% of its total weight
Store outside, stacked, and uncovered in a sunny location, or in an open-sided shed, lean-to, or other structure with the sides completely exposed. Strong air circulation is the key to continuing to dry seasoned firewood. Do not tarp your seasoned firewood or store it inside.
Firewood Amount Breakdown:
4 cubic feet = "party size"
21 cubic feet = about 1/6 of a cord (a little under a yard)
1 cord stacked = 128 cubic feet or 4’x4’x8’
½ cord stacked = 64 cubic feet or 4’x4’x4’
1/3 cord stacked = 42.67 cubic feet or 4’x4’x3’
¼ cord stacked = 32 cubic feet or 4’x4’x2’
